The controller has a maximum input current of 60A total. Each MC4 connector is rated for 40A, so you must split the input across multiple connectors to stay within limits. For detailed wiring, refer to the manual.
Melting can occur if the connectors are not properly rated for the current, or if they are not fully seated. Ensure you are using high-quality MC4 connectors and that the total current does not exceed the rating. Also, check for loose connections or corrosion.
Error 17 typically indicates an over-temperature condition, while error 2 indicates an over-voltage on the PV input. Check your wiring and ensure the PV voltage does not exceed 150V.
The number depends on the voltage and current of your panels. Ensure the total open-circuit voltage does not exceed 150V and the total short-circuit current does not exceed 60A. Typically, you can connect 2-3 strings of modern panels.

I've used other controllers but this one is the best. The Bluetooth app is superb.
This charge controller is a beast. I've got a 600W solar array feeding into it and it handles everything with ease. The MC4 connectors made wiring straightforward. But the real magic is the Bluetooth: I can check my system's health from my phone anytime. The load output is great for running a few lights. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
The controller works fine, but the mounting tabs are positioned poorly. I had to improvise. Not a deal breaker.
